Management Best Practices for Construction Estimators

Whether you currently manage employees, or seek promotion opportunities into leadership positions down the road, mastering best practices for supervising and dealing with co-workers is one of the most important steps in achieving a successful and fulfilling career. Learning how to avoid employment risks and being an active participant in creating the best workplace possible are key to long-term success in this industry.

At this session, you’ll learn how to attract and retain talent at your Company, maintain a healthy and low-risk workplace culture, and avoid being named in costly audits, lawsuits and investigations. Whether you’re a manager now, or aspire to manage projects and grow into leadership roles in the Company, you’ll have a major advantage by mastering best practices for interviewing prospective workers, welcoming and onboarding new hires, and avoiding traps for the unwary in handling employee performance issues, discipline and discharge.

We’ll also cover tips for performance management of subordinates and ways to handle conflict and tension with toxic, difficult co-workers. Finally, you’ll leave with business-minded tips for documentation of employee issues and performance management, as well as habits to break when it comes to workplace communications, so you don’t find yourself in the “hotseat” during discrimination, harassment, and other workplace lawsuits.
